Home Transformations

James Residence

This homeowner wished to combine the cherished memories of his grandfather's existing house with a new home in which to build his family memories. The original living room window, exterior stone and entry location were preserved as the unifying principals in the design. A new expanded garage, breezeway, complete second level and attic were added to the floor plan, to provided the space required by a new generation moving in. This whole house renovation now stands beautifully amongst surrounding new construction homes.

Cooper Residence

Originally a traditional "Four-Square", this home may be one of the original farmhouses in the "Cherry Farm" section of Elmhurst.  Updated additions to three sides of the home included a new bay window facade and bay front porch, a covered driveway with new laundry room on the second floor, a rear addition over a previous family room, a new second floor master bedroom suite and a rear porch. New windows, siding and roof completed the update,  transforming this charming beauty into a modern farmhouse outfitted for today's lifestyle.

Morency Residence

This renovation dream became a reality when the neighbors next door purchased the house. Once a sturdy, 1960's brick ranch, located on a desireable lot, its potential for a completely updated family home was realized.  A clean, light-filled, second level was added in a "Prairie-Tudor" style. The first floor was reworked to include a two story family room with updates for modern day comfort and convenience throughout the home. It has truly become a home to fulfill today's family needs.

Fallon Residence

Located in a desirable family neighborhood and not wanting to relocate, these young homeowners decided to turn their original "starter home" into their "dream home" with a whole-house renovation. The styles of the surrounding neighborhood homes were blended with traditional cues of the American Vernacular style home. The family lived in the home throughout the renovation and endured a TV crew that followed the progress. This house was featured on the HGTV program "Before and After".

Purdom Residence

This home was possibly an original craftsman style home in the "Cherry Farm" section of Elmhurst. It was a traditional shingled home which needed a second level addition to provide space for the growing family who lived there. Renovations included reworking the front of the house to incorporate a previously added side addition and new front porch to meld into one spatial facade. The second floor addition keeps with the craftsman feel and maintains the original intent for the site, without increasing the home's footprint.

Johnson Residence

This dated landmark home in Hinsdale presented the opportunity to reimagine the charm this home once possessed. Its potential was released by taking cues from old photographs and interior woodwork.  The front porch that was original to the house but over time became missing, was reconstructed in its rightful place. Design liberties were taken when updating with new windows and new trim features. Color choices were made to enhance the trim features and to restore the homes appearance to its historic American presence and glory.
